A letter from Principal
When I was interviewing to become principal of Our Lady of the Lake, Father Tony asked what I believe is the goal of Catholic education. My answer, which has been placed on my classroom walls for the past decade, is to further the Kingdom of God. My mission is for our students to receive the best education possible while understanding the love of God. I want them to know how to share God’s love while drawing upon their education each and every day.
I want our students to know what it means to share in this grace throughout preschool, elementary and middle school; when working their first job in high school; throughout their career and when they’re rocking their grandchildren to sleep. I truly believe that we are providing our children with the foundation that will serve them for a lifetime.
We will build on the culture of this gem of a school. There is such a rich history here. Every person who walks into the building will see that this is a joyful place that nurtures children.
We all know, every child is different and that is why I’m so excited to continue growing the Blended Learning model that we started last year. My background is concentrated in math and special education. I completely understand how differentiated education can be incredibly beneficial for all kids. Our children are able to learn at their own pace while building the confidence necessary to try new things. Some will move faster and others will move slower. That’s the beauty of Blended Learning. The goal is that everyone moves forward in an environment where they feel successful, safe and loved.
We will start the school year by telling students that we have high standards for them. I am a firm believer of setting goals. As a school we will set goals, work together to reach them, and then celebrate when we meet and exceed them.
We are committed to the success of each student and the growth of this wonderful school. Let’s listen to each other, honor opinions and work together to move ahead as one.
We are doing God’s work. I feel so blessed for this opportunity to be with you on this journey.
